My Locale Boulder, CO
About Me I started backpacking as a teenager in southern appalachia. My summers in college were spent in mountain heaven, glacier national park. Since then, I've lived and played in the high sierras, the cascades, and now the colorado front range. Walking into the mountains for a few days with a light pack never seems to lose its charm. Also a snapper of many photos. Check out my instagram for short visual trip reports and such.

looks like awesome
I went to see Aaron about a quilt today and saw the new packs. Wow, these look and feel like great packs. I've owned Aaron's bags for the last few years, and have always been impressed with...

Yeah, I definitely think this sort of niche SUL cottage (and non cottage) stuff allows for some ridiculous weight savings without much loss in functionality/comfort. The design on the vest is utter...

GLOWING initial impressions
I'm realizing I just gave a glowing review without a whole lot of experience in the jacket. Its definitely as awesome and unique as I say it is, but it might be a little challenging for UL back...

I'll just make a quick comment based on my experience with the vest. I will a little skeptical about the large baffles at first as well, but so far down shifting/migration has not been an issue...

basically, what others have said. A softshell is good for stretch, durability and breathability. For hiking and skiing I wouldn't use one just because they are so slow to dry and I also find th...

initial impressions (wow)
I had store credit and a %20 off coupon, so I went ahead and bought myself a birthday puffy, and promptly took it on an overnight in indian peaks. The combination of breathability, stretch and warm...

scree etc.
I'm a huge fan of the marmot scree as well. Its a great balance of warmth, breathability/wind resistance, and stretch. Most of my winter activity is now on skis, so I got some nice thin dynafit...

I'm moving into a duplex for my birthday
Yeah, my recent purchase, as with all my interactions with Joe and Matt have been top notch. I don't want to load any unfair expectations on them, but I put in an order for a duplex on friday, ...

WTB: $100 Patagonia Gift Card
Anyone have some store credit they'd like to part with. I'm not sure exactly how this works, but I think that you can transfer partial cards (?). I'm looking for $100 card for $75. Cheers.

I'm very impressed with this pack. I tried out a few packs for a planned AT thru hike (didn't pan out yet), and this was far and a away my favorite. With the stay and sitpad, the pack conforms...
