Wow, those are some intense lugs. Yeah I was thinking of a different shoe, can't remember the name but it was a flat soled minimalist running shoe. Something with "bare" in the name.

The bare grip also has a road running sole that wouldn't be good at all on dirt trails.

Check out the trailroc 150, very aggressive traction but the sole is super minimal. Have you tried the trail glove? If you want something cushy but minimal then the ascend glove is good.
