My Locale Extreme northern Sierra Nevada
About Me I'm almost 60, single male. I had been in Retail Management for over 30 years. I have mostly solo bped since the early mid '70's. I XC some, not afraid to go alone, I also solo winter camp, have been out in sub-zero temps too. I recently went on a backcountry bp to Alaska with five others into Wrangell/St. Elias NP. Since early 2010, I have been collecting vintage/antique camping and bp stoves, having acquired 65 now. I like many outdoor activities, from bping to dirtbike riding, gardening. I cut my own firewood too.

Sawyer has come a long way
Seems Sawyer has come a long way from the cheap water filters from years back. I believe it was their cheapo water filters I used to see Scouts struggling to pump, then to have the filter blow off...

Dehydrated water? That was in cans, on the shelf in a gas station east of Austin, NV back in the late 60's. Duane
