My Locale Midwest
About Me I am in my late-40's and really got interested in backpacking about 10 years ago as a way to have some concentrated time with my boys, now all finishing up high school or in college. I try to get out a few times a year, including a bi-annual trip to Colorado for some of the big stuff. Otherwise I am stuck in the very boring midwest where everything exciting is a good day's drive away.

Re: bump
I'm not familiar with the pack although I've read great things about it. Is the XL the same as a tall? I don't see the XL listed on Hyperlite's website. Weight?

Weight w/o pole?
I might be interested. Any idea what the weight is w/o the pole? Checked out the BPWD website and they don't list the weight of the pole. And would you take $60 for it? $80 isn't far o...

Great tips
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Just bought the MSR Flex. Looks with a nice size frying pan, 9", w/o too much of a weight penalty (7 oz) for a good price: $30 at REI. Appreciate the help!
