Study: "One third of parents will not let children do ‘risky activities’ like climbing trees
I see it in Boy Scouts all the time. Kids who don't know which side of a knife to cut with, or who don't know how to strike a match. Told me his parents didn't let him play with matches...

I find it refreshing that Roger is letting so much of his personal opinions bleed into this article. There are some things I don't agree with, but I can always read Backpacker if I want a borin...

Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

ULA Catalyst
Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
