Store it right
I used lungs on my old Thermarest for 6 months, no noticeable effect. I'm using lungs on my Xtherm. Just store it open and deflated and unrolled.

+1 on Craigslist.
I bought a $1400 touring bike on Craigslist in perfect condition for $600. Used works. I don't think it's relevant to someone trying to use an REI coupon, though.
