My Locale Colorado Rockies
About Me I'm 45 years old, 6'4" and 195 lbs. I've backpacked in the Colorado Rockies, the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, and in Zions National Park. I mountain bike in the Colorado Rockies. I've kayaked in Yellowstone and on Flaming Gorge, and rafted the Green, Colorado and Snake rivers. My trips are usually a week long or less. I love to hike wherever I can. I'm an Assistant Scout Master and I'm often out with the Scouts. My immediate goal is to thru-hike the Colorado trail. I've lived in Utah, Ohio, Illinois, Argentina, California, and Colorado.

As nice as the Montane wind shirts are, I don't think they have hoods. I think James is looking for something with a hood.

I have experience with wind shirts from Montbell, Pearl Izumi, and Patagonia. The Patagonia Houdini is my favorite. For me, it strikes the right balance between breathability and water resistance. ...

Ryan, what are your feelings on solid fuel tabs (Esbit)? You could loose the Lil Nipper. The Heineken beer mug would be lighter then the SnowPeak 600 but is a compromise not everyone likes. 4 stuff...

Jon, my Smartwool Shadow hoody has thumb holes. The thumbhole is sewn into a cuff that is then sewn onto the end of the sleeve. This works rather well. See my review of the Shadow for some details.
