lol at cutting spoons and toothbrush to save grams when many ounces could be saved elsewhere i love my long spoon for FBC and pb jars. i trimmed my toothbrush so it would fit in a ziplock sid...

probably.. i'm 5'7 and i got the EE Small size and it fits me perfectly. my MYOG synthetic is similar sized though i'm not sure exact length.

From what i've seen they tend to hike like they are posing there.. hands on the bottom rails to help take some of the load. regularly do 50-80lbs with 100lb load being a prized accomplishment.

Recumbent will use your glutes and hamstrings more than an upright bike. if you have any back problems then i'd go with the recumbent.
