I have used several external framed packs (mostly Jansports) and I always carried most of the weight on the hips. I would adjust the shoulder straps so the top attachment point was above my should...

Roger, I don't understand the point of a frame if you are carrying most of the weight on your shoulders. I am honestly curious why you want a frame. I hate carrying any weight on my shoulders...
