Bruce - the Akto I had had more usable length than the Soulo, because of the vertical walls. I think, based on your description, that you would touch the end of the Soulo with a higher loft bag.

This is a similar approach to that of Mchales Guide Harness and it works brilliantly. The shoulder straps themselves act like load lifters.
