My Locale Extreme northern Sierra Nevada
About Me I'm 60, single male. I had been in Retail Management for over 30 years. I have mostly solo bped since the early mid '70's. I XC some, not afraid to go alone, I also solo winter camp, even out in sub-zero temps. A few years ago, I went on a backcountry bp to Alaska, where I flew in by bush plane with five others into Wrangell/St. Elias NP. Since early 2010, I have been collecting vintage/antique camping and bp stoves, having acquired over 90 now. I like many outdoor activities, from bping to dirtbike riding, gardening.

NeoAir Xtherm Noise?
I'm fine with my regular length, used it last winter snow camping. I'll have to get it out and see what noise there was. Love having lost the bulk and weight of a DAM. Duane

Cascade Designs says to put the ccf on the bottom, which I've done for years, more comfortable too, at least for my tossing and turning old body. I use a really light Nightlite pad from Gossa...

Mike, I followed your link last night, you have to look, but the 40% off code was there, despite showing to the contrary on their site also. I needed nothing, so went along my merry way. Duane

Winter Stove Discussion-2014
I collect stoves, so I prefer the ones 30-40 years old or more. A real jewel is a Radius 43 with roarer burner, simmers so great, uses kerosene, not sure of its age. The DF is very adjustable, qu...

Calling all Yosemite veterans
Check weather forecast for snow also. I've been snowed out in early Oct., and have seen snow storms through out the Sierra about that time in Sept too. If it passes, it turns nice again. Fun...

Has anyone used a WM Caribou sleeping bag
I've had this bag for 12 years or so. Washed a couple times. I use it here in the Sierra and has been to AK and WY, down to around 28F there about. When it gets into the upper 20's, at t...
