Disclosure statement?
Did I miss the part where where the author discloses if the tents were purchased by him, or provided free by the manufacturers? I've come to expect this kind of statement in review articles ...

Re: Re: New Roclite 295s--anyone tried them yet?
Color scheme: Yeah, my mistake. Didn't look to closely last time I was looking at 295s--maybe I was looking at women's version or TrailRoc. If the fit was snugger through heel and mid fo...

Re: Re: MYOG
Hi Tim, Good points, and I certainly didn't mean to imply beginners should be *designing* their own stuff. And of course, renting or borrowing gear the first few times makes far more sense tha...

MYOG
Conventional wisdom is Light/High Quality/Low cost: choose any two. MYOG can give you all three (assuming you don't count your labor in the cost). University rec. programs often rent gear fo...

Re: TENT, SLEEPING BAG AND STOVE SUGGESTIONS.
As I recall from your previous thread, the big question was (and still is) what you mean by four season. Four-season tent usually means something that can handle high winds and snow-loading. Wil...

"For the last yr the Haven has been a figment of imagination." I see both versions of the Haven are now unavailable. FWIW, I ordered my Haven tarp 1 February 2014, and received it prom...
