My Locale Midwest
About Me I am in my late-40's and really got interested in backpacking about 10 years ago as a way to have some concentrated time with my boys, now all finishing up high school or in college. I try to get out a few times a year, including a bi-annual trip to Colorado for some of the big stuff. Otherwise I am stuck in the very boring midwest where everything exciting is a good day's drive away.

Thanks all for the help. That's what I appreciate about the site. My only desire was to spend a night up high under the stars. I already knew the hike was a short one and quickly done in a c...

My failure to find good bug netting for my TS is one of the reasons that I ended up selling it, something I regret now. It is such a great shelter but its tough to lose all of that open space from...

Great tarp
Great tarp, great price. I still regret the day I sold my TS. Loved waking up in the morning to the yellow glow, even when it was ugly outside.

Happy customer
Michael, just a shout out to the BC bed and quilt. I bought both the BC bed and quilt to try both out, with the intention of returning the one I liked least. I liked them both so much I kept both...

I have the ULA CDT and really like it. I have broad shoulders so the S harness is great for that. I was surprised by how big it is--it's huge. I use a Thermarest Z-pad cut down as a sit pad ...
