My Locale Seattle area
About Me Grew up camping and backpacking in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. Then went to the east coast for grad school...then job...then family. Twenty years later we were able to reach escape velocity from Washington DC and relocated the entire family to the PNW. I've fallen in love with the Cascades as much as the Rockies. And we spend 4 weeks every year in Montana near Glacier.

Re: Master of none

Re: Hok
first, i am no expert on this topic or on BC skiing. so take that into consideration. Dave C here on BPL I think has some thoughts on the Hoks. Also note that I did not get out on mine a single ...

Another place to look is Montbell's umbrellas. Some interesting designs that are not explained well on the website. But I have checked them out at their Portland store. And bought one.

fond memories of Chromedome
For all its issues, it does make you realize that Golite was giving its customers a good deal in many cases. I got the ChromeDome for something like $29 dollars if I remember correctly.

Schedule for weekend?
Do we have a schedule or agenda of activities. Nothing formal, but sort of a structure for the weekend for folks to plan around, especially in terms of when folks should arrive and might head out,...

Re: photos
Incredibly useful. Thanks Diane. So it sounds like, as it is with many car camping sites, no stakes are gonna penetrate that gravel, so we should plan on self standing tents?

Hokas are a drug
I think you will find this a good summary of the dilemma. I still exclusively run and hike in minimalist shoes. But recognize that more padding might have its time and place as long as used in mode...
