I suspect you will be fine with the 8x8. My big tent is a Golite SL5 which is 9'6" x 9'6" and sleeps 4 easily with lots of extra room at the head / foot directoion.

Hey Franco, isn't that inefficient to have the tent that far from your body? Conventional wisdom is that the heavier items go closer to your body, but maybe at very low weights it doesnt matter...
