Camping on the NCT side (west) is wild, but less water and less people. But the view is not as good. FS side (east) more water, better, view, but fixed sites. It really doesn't matter to me...

Stephen, I will know the Friday morning of the decided date. I don't know what my work schedule is like in April. However, I may be able to get my wife to go instead of being a hiking widow.

I second that on the weight. I found an E.B. summer hat and once I pulled the daisy chain off and swapped the shoe lace strap and cord lock for something more reasonable, I got it to 73g.

Ian -- thanks. I did a quick search. Brazil does not should like the hiking capital of SA. The only good part of the trip is seeing moon in the wrong hemisphere.
