About Me I'm a Physician Assistant working at a lung clinic. I'm married and have two young daughters. I dabble in ultralight, bushcraft, and even car camping. I enjoy making my own equipment, but also believe some things make more since to buy. Volunteering with the local search and rescue gives me a practical use for light weight gear.

Re: Good point
I have the Kid Comfort III. It's nice and all. Carries well and nice features, but weight and size are just too much. I would only recommend it if your pushing the upper limits of the weight...

Re: Exped UL Downmat vs Neoair XTherm
I have both, but have not had a chance to try out the XTherm as the weather has been too warm. Being able to store the Neoair compressed is a big plus for me. Unless I find something surprising w...

Re: Cleaning Up after a Backpacking Meal... using Honey?
Very cool. I always have hated trying to wash dishes with very cold water. Even with soap it can be inefficiency. At least it would be interesting to see how the tea tastes with the residue of v...

Re: Re: FlytePacker Raft
It takes me 5 minutes and at the end I feel quite tingly. For fun I've held my breath afterward with a pulse oximeter on. After breathing off so much CO2 I was able to hold my breath long eno...

I also have some secret information about the Titanium Goat raft in the works. From what I'm told it should be more than a few ounces lighter. Besides that, I also think I prefer the proposed...
