My Locale North Georgia
About Me I first was introduced to backpacking as a Boy Scout. One trip to Philmont and another trip to HH High Adventure Base and I've been addicted to the backcountry ever since. I'm finally able to afford getting some quality gear so I'm in the process of becoming UL. My favorite place to backpack thus far: Big Bend National Park. It's just so damn beautiful there. I'm originally from North Texas, so the southeast is very uncomfortable to me with its humidity. I do love having mountains within an hour drive from where I live, though.

Hooded Indie
I just ordered one after trying it on. I'm 5'9" 140lbs and the medium is what I decided fit best for me. I don't like compression/fitted layers and the medium fit just loose enou...

I'm going to go out on a very short and stout limb and predict that the $1000 electric clothing is going to flop when it hits the market. Someone is going to get burned and everyone is going t...

Xmas Gift (for me)
Ok, so my family is asking me for some ideas on what to get me that I would actually be able to use. I already have a few ideas, but really anything considered "UL" would make me extreme...

Kookabay DAM ?
Do you have to e-mail Kookabay for info about their DAM's? I can't find them on their website. I'd like to know what the weight is for them since I don't really have a good pad fo...

More money, haha
--edited for harshness-- I do think people are too tough on the big stores, though. If they did carry the "cottage manufacturers" then no one would be happy with said companies. Ther...

Hot water
If I remember correctly, all I did was run hot/warm water through my camelbak before I used it. I didn't have any ill effects from doing so. Also, I don't use the "cleaning kit"...
