My Locale Wet & Humid Southeast....
About Me My stomping grounds are the SE US, and 90% of the time, somewhere on the AT in GA, TN, or NC. Other times I enjoy going to the Smokies, or other smaller wilderness areas such as the Savage Gulf area.
Most of my trips are between 2 - 5 days long, with rare 7 day long trips. My total pack weights are generally under 20 lbs, unless trying new gear, or carrying extra for the kids. In the dead of summer, I enjoy SUL hikes, and have given thought to XUL (almost there...)

Re: camera cases...how minimal are you comfortable going?
When I carry a camera, I carry my Panasonic Lumix GF2, so not near as expensive as your Sony, but still not a cheap camera. I have tried a few different methods: pants pocket, ZPacks Multipack, hip...

Re: Exped Downmat Winterlite Review and Xtherm Comparo
Wow, great post, thanks for sharing.... and it confirmed my suspicions... I have been a long time NeoAir fan, but last Christmas my wife bought me a SynMat UL7 pad, and while I will admit, it is a ...

Re: New favorite luxury item, the Simple Shower
I do something similar to this with my Sawyer Mini water filter. I have tied a small piece of cord to each corner of the bottom of my 2L Saywer bag so I can use it as a handle to carry the full wat...

Lots of talk of the CS UL2 on this thread, so I figured I would add my thoughts on mine. Ultimately, I find it is a pretty tight 2 person tent and would only recommend it for family.... I am fine w...

Re: GF pillow
@wiiawiwb My GFG down pillowcase has never felt lumpy, and I can't say that I can feel the down feathers when lying on it. Ben uses 850+ premium goose down, so it is a very soft down cluster, w...
