Being an occasional alpine climber I find myself going on the occasional 5-6 day trip with rope, trad rack, harness, helmet, and other accoutrements in addition to my usual backpacking load. Last c...

Re: Earplugs that don't hurt your ears
It's my ear canal that gets irritated. It's like they expand too much and put pressure on it. Feels a little like an "ear headache" if that makes any sense.

Earplugs that don't hurt your ears
I find that I occasionally want to use earplugs when I go camping (urban camping with street noise, etc. comes to mind). Traditional foam earplugs always start hurting me after a couple hours. I go...

Re: Quilt similar to Katabatic Gear
The wide 6' version is available. I am 5'11" and ~160 pounds at most. I sleep on my side and switch sides frequently during the night. Would I regret a wide or would it work well for me?

Quilt similar to Katabatic Gear
I am in the market for a good quality 20 degree quilt. I had my heart set on a Katabatic Gear Alsek, but it is backordered and I want it a lot sooner than it is available. Are there any other quilt...
