Glacier National Park - Reynolds Creek Wildfire and Backcountry Closures
If you haven't heard yet, a major wildfire started in the St. Mary area of Glacier National Park yesterday afternoon. The Reynolds Creek Fire was reported yesterday about 3:45 at only a couple...

Re: Mid for two
Dave C really likes the new Seek Outside BT-2 (review here). If I were in the market for a larger 'mid (I really love my Duomid--but it's really a 1.5 person shelter), I'd be serious...

Re: BD Traverse
I use the longer version of the BD Traverse poles--it's a two-piece ski pole--for my trekking poles and as a long, stiff center pole for my Duomid. They can get tall enough that I have plenty ...

Re: Interesting...
This is interesting. The most recent version of the Newt has to be my best backpacking gear purchase of 2014. I love that pack--so simple, light, and comfortable. It's really usable for ever...

Re: C&F Boxes
If I had found the perfect fly box yet, I'd tell you. But what I've settled on for now are the C&F Ultralight boxes in medium. They're a bit too easy to crush for my liking, but s...

Re: Re: Re: pole length for duomid?
I feel like my sil Duomid sets up best at somewhere around the 145-150 cm mark. I can stretch the sil higher, but that seems like a bad idea. It was built in 2013, and I seem to remember Ron sa...
