My Locale Upper Midwest
About Me Started backpacking a couple years ago and realized (after making some ill-advised, "traditional" backpacking purchases) that ultralight is the way to go. I've been retooling my gear to get closer to the ultralight goal. I'm down to 20 pounds skin out w/out food and looking to get as close to 12 as possible.

similar kits
Also, Chad you and I have incredibly similar kits. Other than the diabetic supplies I carry about 80% of your exact kit. Although I'm 5'10" 170 so my clothes are a little smaller/lighter!

Yes netting only top zipper
Yes there is netting with a full double zip. The entry is at the top but it's quite large. I don't remember if the netting can be zipped completely off but I will check when I get home. Thanks

I will eco the sentiments of most everyone by saying that this is an amazing solo cooking solution. I paired my MSR Titan Kettle with the appropriate version and I suddenly had an incredibly light kit...
