Re: Hammer Perpetuem Make sure to try it out before your trip. Most people find some brands/flavors are easier on the stomach than others. Also, mix/water ratios vary widely on user preference. I usually like mine more... |

Re: Winter backpacking and 2WD cars with chains? My FWD with snow tires has better stop/start traction than our Jeep. Ground clearance is an issue though. In slick situations I would rather be in the FWD. |

Re: "likely, the best backpacking sleeping bag in the world." Strange that the "best ... bag in the world" they rated a 5/10 in warmth. An expensive, cold, light quilt/bag doesn't sound that impressive to me. |
