My Locale Boulder, CO
About Me I started backpacking as a teenager in southern appalachia. My summers in college were spent in mountain heaven, glacier national park. Since then, I've lived and played in the high sierras, the cascades, and now the colorado front range. Walking into the mountains for a few days with a light pack never seems to lose its charm. Also a snapper of many photos. Check out my instagram for short visual trip reports and such.

I saw these jackets too. The fill to garment ratio seems pretty good, and if the warmth claims are accurate, seems like these would both be better alternatives to 100 gram primaloft jackets.

@brian, thats my typical system for bc skiing as well, except with an equilebrium windshirt or vapour rise. So far, I've mostly used my nano air on the downs for ski touring. I have noticed tha...

For the mostly dry colorado conditions i encounter the versalite's have been great. I'm 6'2 175 and went with a medium. A tad short, but otherwise a good fit. 4.6 for a 3 layer pant is ...

If you know you like that katabatic, why not just go for the palisade? I also dont think overfill is necessafy on katabatic quilts. They are already overfilled, and i think overfill actually ends u...

Merino air
@ tjaard, I saw that on GJ as well and it does look totally oversized. I'm 6'2 175 and went with a size medium and the fit is very form fitting, perfect for a winter base, but not something...
