About Me I got hooked on UL hiking while planning my JMT thru hike in Sept 2008. Prior to hiking the JMT my longest hike was the Bechler River trail 5-night hike in Yellowstone and a Grand Canyon 5 day trip. Thru-hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail in 2009, Glacier National Park Northern Traverse in 2010 and the Wonderland trail in 2011. Completed the Weminuche section of the Colorado Trail in 2012 and ran the Grand Canyon R2R2R.

I prefer hiking but I like to run marathons for grins. Completed my 30th marathon in 2012.

Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer Anorak
I just saw this 2012 jacket on MH's website. It weighs a claimed 1.9 ounces. I haven't used one so not sure if it can withstand backpack abrasion. It's stripped of everything to sav...

I'm extremely happy with my MSR Pocket Rocket, which I've used as my primary stove for the last 5 years. I pair it with my 850 mL MSR Titan Kettle and I only use it to boil water for Mountain...
