About Me I day hike, scramble, or snowshoe about once a week; usually these have between 3,000 and 5,000 feet of elevation gain and are 7-12 miles long. Once or twice a year I'll go on a short backpacking trip. I've been doing this for about three years. Recently I've gotten into hiking lighter, and UL philosophy. I'm looking forward to learning from the BPL community. I have a PhD in computer engineering and am a software engineer.
