Re: Coating silnylon floor
It's not exactly what you asked, but I've been using Lightheart Gear's regular silnylon for floors lately. It's not very slippery and seems plenty waterproof - I've slept on wet...

Re: Re: BearPaw WD quality
Those pictures show some pretty ugly seams... One thing that is clear is that MLD, HMG, Oware, etc are missing the market on inner tents. People seem to want inner tents for their mids and tar...

Re: Frame sheet
I think the Porter is heavier due to all the webbing on it (thicker webbing + buckles add up quickly). It's also got that interior pocket. Here is info on the 4400 SW straight from HMG's we...

Re: Southwest vs Porter waterproof
All the 4400 HMG packs have the same hipbelt and suspension - they should carry the exact same. The hydration port is a moot point IMO. Tape it up, or ask HMG to build a Southwest without it.

Re: Durability
Eric, if you read the survey, you'll still see lots of the failures are with "traditional" gear

Re: Re: Failures
Most of the failures seem like things that happen to beginners. But there are several zippers breaking (possible due to abuse) and shoes coming apart. One guy apparently dumped 25 lbs of gear h...
