About Me My backpacking experience consists of 3-5 day trips in the Appalachian Mountains from October-May. Most of my trips are in the colder months when few others are out. Western N.C. is my favorite area (Smokies, Pisgah N.F., A.T.). I also enjoy hiking in the west (Co, UT, AZ), but have yet to go backpacking there.
