About Me I started backpacking a little less than a year ago, but have been camping/hiking/mtb'ing all my life. Raced road bikes for a few years, but gave that up last year shortly after turning pro. First time I went out backpacking I left with 65lbs and had visibly bruised shoulders and hips and vowed to never go out again with that much weight, but to go out again soon. Now at sub 5lbs base for overnights etc, and planning a thru hike of the pct and at next year with around a 8-10lb base.

Re: Re: Re: re: Fly Creek UL2 repair MYOG Guys
I can't believe I never updated this post. Maybe I made a new thread about it? I honestly don't remember, but I do know that Jamie went well above and beyond anything I could've expect...

Re: Two trails in a year
I honestly don't even expect to skip those sections. I'm fully prepared for a winter assault on the trail and have done all of those peaks under full winter conditions many times as I live...

Re: Re: PCT and AT
Josh: I can put in 20-25 a day out of shape. I did a few back to back 30s through the sierras when I had not been hiking for long and felt ok. I'm going to be starting out doing 15 a day and ...

Shr
Well after seeing this, I passed on the shr. I'm just going to yoyo the jmt. Maybe I'll try again next year, though from what I understand it's going to be an even bigger snow year.

JMT/SHR
I realize this is a little last minute, but I'm leaving sometime between tomorrow and Saturday for the JMT headed south. Going to be planning for 10 days down to whitney, and then back up the ...

Re: Re: Duo MLD Inner and Neo
Some pics with a neo air, 30 degree quilt, but no one inside, so you'll have to add a few inches to the height of the baffles. Pitch is a little sloppy, but you get the idea.

Re: Duo MLD Inner and Neo
Not much. In a summer bag on top of my neo, I'm touching both ends of the walls with the bag, though not my body. Granted that's still doable because there's at least a few inches betw...

Re: Quilt Options
Well you're comparing apples to apples slightly. The Katabatic has 2 oz more down as well as a variable cut as well as sewn in foot box. Both of which, I appreciate. As far as the others, the...

Re: Re: Re: A few (more) Lost Coast area questions.
I found even sand stakes didn't work out there. Either put up deadmans, or just grab some 2-3 inch think branches and pound those in. That was the only way I could get mine to stay up last time.

Re: experience
Then definitely look into yogi's guide. The town info is amazing, though double check stuff to make sure it's still current if you're relying on mail drops in certain places.
