My Locale Colorado Rockies
About Me I'm 45 years old, 6'4" and 195 lbs. I've backpacked in the Colorado Rockies, the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, and in Zions National Park. I mountain bike in the Colorado Rockies. I've kayaked in Yellowstone and on Flaming Gorge, and rafted the Green, Colorado and Snake rivers. My trips are usually a week long or less. I love to hike wherever I can. I'm an Assistant Scout Master and I'm often out with the Scouts. My immediate goal is to thru-hike the Colorado trail. I've lived in Utah, Ohio, Illinois, Argentina, California, and Colorado.

Re: death valley.
Delun, If your plan is, I will hike for one day and see how it goes from there, then you DO NOT have a plan. I typically ignore posts like this that show no prior thought before asking for help. I...

Re: Re: Re: Trowel - which one?
I posted instructions on making my trowel with the experiences of others in the MYOG section. I don't have one to sell but I'm happy to answer any questions if you wish to make your own.

Re: Lightest bowl
Like Rick, I use the Orikaso bowl and wasn't interested in the mug or plate. I eat oatmeal and drink hot chia tea out of it most mornings. If the bowl is too hot to hold, then the contents are ...

Re: Packraft Rating (PR) System
Packrafting, a variation on a theme of backpacking. It's music to me. Don't stop the music, but who am I to tell the conductor what to do. Simply buying a ticket doesn't give me that ri...
