About Me Husband, father, and student. I have really gotten into backpacking within the last four years or so, and have spent the last 3 years cutting out the "fat" I am now on the brink of UL/SUL and love it. Right now in my area I seem to be the only bper that actually goes bping and not just talks about it. So 99% of my bping is done solo. Which I actually have come to enjoy and look forward to doing. But I do miss some of the companionships at times and wish I had more people to hike with.

I had to ditch the GG pad last year as well. Now I only take it to use as a base pad for snow camping. I had to take the 3 ounce hit and went with the Montbell ul 90. It is plenty of pad for me and...
