About Me I'm 57 and started backpacking 10 years ago. Started with a big Dana Terraplane and nearly 40 pounds of stuff. Hated every step with all that weight. So, I read Ray Jardine's book and decided to go light. Earlier this year, I launched my blog, lightbackpacking.com to share my 10 years of getting light experience. As I read the forums here, I realize that in some ways, many people are light years ahead of me. But hey, if life isn't about learning, what is it about?
