Can anyone recommend an app for the iPhone that allows the phone to emit a signal that can be tracked remotely, much like the SPOT and the Garmin Tracker?

When I'm hiking I carry my iPhone in a snack sized baggie and I am able to manipulate the touch screen through the bag. Take spare bags as they are easy to puncture.
