My Locale Bellingham, WA
About Me Grew up in MI. Was in Boy Scouts (made Eagle:), camped often. Started backpacking in college (Isle Royale:D). After 5 years, I begin to think about ULing. Last summer I started with an Exos 58, TT Rainbow, and MH Phantom32 which really got me addicted! Been slowly working down since. Just got a NeoAir XLite (saved 1.75#!), can't wait.

Now I have a TiTri stove (love it), Arc Blast from Zpacks (also love it), and a Bear Paw Cub Den 1.5 (with bathtub poncho floor - thanks John!). So light!:)

I recently moved to WA to pursue an MS in Ecology.

Thanks for the link Tommy! I called them, but it's $160 for the shuttle which is too much going solo. I posted on craigslist to find a ride, but if that doesn't work Willie (shuttle owner) ...

WTB Evernew water carry
Hi all, I'm pretty sure I'll be purchasing a Sawyer squeeze filter soon to replace my AquaMira on at least some trips, and I've heard bad things about their bags. I'm looking for...

Good to know! I think that my trip will be more around the 27-29 (sometime in there). I have wanted to get to the coast, and I think the lower elevations will probably let me use my own sleeping ba...

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the advice. I've been busy writing my thesis, hence the long absence. I'll certainly check trail reports and websites mentioned for conditions as the d...

VivoBarefoot Off Road boots
I use the Vivo Barefoot Off Road boots for both on- and off-trail backpacking/hiking. They work great! Unfortunately mine came apart and getting Vivo to honor the warranty was a real pain, so I'...
