1.6 liters is not that big. I use a 1.9 liter Open Country Al pot (6" diameter) on an Optimus Crux, It has a pot support diameter of 4.25" and have used it on a Soto OD-1R. Go light.

Yes been there, seen the fires caused by burning TP, it was enough to make me start packing it out. Really easy, no fuss, no weight disadvantage.

Elemental Horizons Kalais
Does all that, except not sure about the weekender horizontally, certainly vertically. Matthew at EH can tell you for sure though. Here is my review/search for a pack similar needs.
