About Me We are primarily kayakers who travel as light as possible on long trips here in Southeast Alaska. There are a lot of similarities between our paddling style and the ultra light approach noted here. My wife bought me the account for a holiday, and as incentive for me to return to multi-day backpacking.

OR zips
I have a hard shell and a soft shell OR rain coat with the full zips. Have used them rather effectively with a backpack. In heavy rain just zip to the top and bottom edges of the belt. Works great.

Fortunately, there are no rules where we backpack and kayak, which is why I"ve never paddled in Glacier Bay though it is just a couple of day's paddle from here.
