re: Drying wipes before trip
In my context I have very limited water. So can't rinse food waste off a bandana. Even if could, would end up with a wet, smelly bandana (wet environment, plus sensitive so don't use deterg...

Drying wipes before trip
Seemed to work on my last trip. On trip just added a bit of water to dried wipe, and it worked fine. Cut weight penalty down drastically.

SMD Haven in Cuben
I chose it over the Stratospire 2 because it looked more simple to put up. It is simple to put up. Takes 5 minutes. Very happy with it. Haven't tried it in dodgy weather. Small footprint. I h...

Lightweight and low-cut waterproof shoes in size 15
Thanks for the suggestions. The Brooks sound great, except I think that I've tried those ones before and a section of the sole delaminated after only one trip. The Keens look good, except t...

Any other believers out there?
Look, I anticipated (well-intentioned) lectures like this. I have plenty of hiking experience that says otherwise. Wet feet for days that get really smashed, and heavy, soggy shoes that can't ...

Lightweight and low-cut waterproof shoes in size 15
I have clown sized feet. Have tried Nike and Brookes runners with a Gore Tex membrane. They were great except for when sections of the multi-sectioned soles delaminated and fell off. So, interest...
