I don't think you would want the gear most early drop out are (were) packing, unless you like REI stuff.

You are correct in saying the insulin response to sugar is blunted (somewhat) during exercise but, we are talking about the use of maltodextrin as a recovery drink after exercise, not during. To me...

I haven't tried drying the packets of tuna or salmon but what I did find to work for me was, to dehydrate fresh Sockeye Salmon, vacuum bag seal it and had no problems eating it while in Washing...
