I think another important factor here is that fabrics with alot of elasthane(spandex) in them tend to be really tightly woven, partly because the spandex is pulling it together so the air permeabil...

Here is another source, not the full system but atleast the plastic "connector". Stiff 4 mm cord + folded and glued fabric should work http://www.aliexpress.com/item/100pcs-3-4-21mm-Sl...
