Fine just be smart
Condensation will be more of a problem in a bivy then in a tent. I think you'll be fine but I would make sure my puffy layer etc gave you some insurance in case things got a bit damp. Edit ...

Re: Re: Well SOMEONE is useless...
My experience has been that rangers in places like YNP have enough legitimate things to deal with that they don't get into petty stuff. The crew at Guadalupe NP are always great.

Re: Re: Re: Re: i don't pack raft, but i've been a dinghy sailor and have worn a dry suit in the winter for frostbiting
Justin what kind of raft did you try? I tried a Yak identical to Morgan's. Swimming issues aside I agree that bibs would help with that one. OTOH if you get a better deck you won't have...

Another Idea
I like the first idea, but I think doing it in reverse is a better idea. I'm pretty sure that way you camp lower the first night. I really like the Pecos.

Re: Waterproof Down
I had plenty of condensation in my old Golite quilt this summer in B.C. No problem in Wyoming. Probably going back to synthetic for wetter trips. Yeah site selection would have helped but my opt...

More on that Kokepelli Packraft
I tried a prototype of that Kokepelli packraft at the APA Roundup, bought it and took it to Canada for a big trip. I liked what I saw. 1. The raft holds air better then Alpackas and can get ve...

Go for it but...
I would say go for it but think about a few things. The CT is a great hike but it does have a few sections along dirt roads and a few low elevation sections that people whine about. I loved it bu...
