About FireLite Solid Fuel Tablets

FireLite Solid Fuel Tablets are sold in bulk packs of 36 tablets each.

FireLite Solid Fuel Tablets offer the highest performance-to-weight ratio of any solid fuel tablet on the market. FireLite Tablets offer total burn times that are comparable to Esbit Solid Fuel Tablets, but burn hotter (i.e., they have a higher combustible fuel density), for faster boil times.

In addition, FireLite Solid Fuel Tablets break more cleanly (Esbit fuel tends to crumble and break into more angular pieces), are slightly less expensive, are available in bulk quantities, and come in two sizes (14 g and 10 g tablets) for convenience.

10g or 14g Tablets?

FireLite Solid Fuel Tablets are available in both 10g and 14g sizes. The 14g tablet size offers better performance (longer burn time), but the 10g tablet is perfect for smaller water volumes when a full tablet isn't needed and you want to avoid the inconvenience of breaking tablets in the field.

Comparison: FireLite vs. Esbit

Tests were performed on a Backpacking Light Folding Titanium Solid Fuel Stove and 16 oz of cold tap water (same temperature for all tests) in a Vargo Titanium Mug (indoors, no windscreen).

Precautions

As with any solid fuel tablets, FireLite tablets require common sense when handling and burning. Limit contact with bare skin (since acidic perspiration can dissolve the tablet and result in a skin rash), don't breathe fumes (never breathe fumes from ANY combustible fuel), and don't cook in your tent.

In spite of manufacturer claims to the contrary, ALL fuels (including alcohol, butane, white gas, and solid fuels), even those that claim to be "non-toxic", produce noxious fumes (such as carbon monoxide) when they burn, and contain chemicals that should not be in contact with skin for prolonged periods of time. FireLite tablets are packaged in single use sealed packets and can be placed on your stove without coming into contact with skin.

This item is classified as "flammable" and must be shipped via ground shipping methods.  As such, it cannot be shipped internationally, to Hawaii or to Alaska.
