DriDucks Ultra-lite Rain suits are made with microporous polypropylene waterproof-breathable nonwoven fabrics. Microporous polypropylene is used in other brands of lightweight raingear, including Frogg Toggs and Rainshield. The differences between DriDucks and these other products are outlined in the table below:

Durability Notes: DriDucks are made with a two-layer microporous polypropylene laminate. They are intended for casual use by ultralight backpackers that know how to take care of their gear. We recommend them for on-trail backpacking, not mountaineering or bushwhacking. In particular, we highly recommend them as cheap alternatives to expensive and heavier raingear for mild weather backpacking where your raingear sits in the bottom of your pack most of the time anyways. DriDucks are cheap, ultralight, and compact!

About the Surface Finish: DriDucks have a slick surface finish, unlike Frogg Toggs, but similar to Rainshield, and because of such, maintain better "DWR-like" water resistance over time, are more resistant to staining and "shed brush" better when you do have to bushwhack with them.
