Abstract

A bear deterrent is defined herein as a device or method used to prevent or halt the progress of a charging grizzly bear. Your options are limited to the following list of both practical and ridiculous items:

Bear bells and air horns
Human voice and sound
Bear spray
Guns
Prayer

You’ll have to make your own judgment about which items are more effective than others. I do hope that this short article motivates you to do more research on the topic.
