    Most survival blankets are made of mylar. Mylar is light, but it rips, is noisy, is nearly impossible to repack to its original size, and is not very repairable. The AMK Heatsheets Survival Blanket is made of polyethylene and solves most of these problems without adding much weight at all.

    Bottom Line: a more functional alternative for an emergency blanket or ground cloth for the ultralight backpacker.
